In conclusion, through several of these episodes George Costanza has proven that he is not simply a loser nor someone who goes through life not caring where he ends up. He is not a colossal failure from the standpoint that he attempts countless times to make life better for himself and occasionally others. From buying a security guard a chair so that he can relax to analyzing his own life in "The Opposite" in hopes to better himself, George has not failed in his life.
"I'm disturbed, I'm depressed, I'm inadequate, I got it all!" George proclaims in "The Visa" (4.15). In Seinfeld itself, George is constantly portrayed as someone who is insecure and does not realize the positive and good influences nor the good things he has in his life. As a result, it is hard for us viewers to notice it as well. However, through close examination and analysis, I believe there can be some good shed on George Costanza. That he does have good friends and an exciting, ever-changing life. That George is someone who tries to be happy and centers his life around that idea. It's just that his attempts are crowded in the humor noir that is Seinfeld. Yet I believe that George Costanza really is not all that bad and is more important than he and the show give him credit for, I hope to have proven that.
